Ivy Brook Farm
Elma ,Washington
Welcome to Ivy Brook Farm. We
hope you enjoy your visit here,
have fun looking at our farm, and
learn a little something new while
here. We are a small 4-H goat
family located in Elma, Washington.
We raise primarily Registered
Nubian Dairy Goats, But we do
have a few Pygmies (for our
younger 4-H children.) and a
Saanen Dairy goat that we bought
at 1 day old. To the left is a Picture
of me (Rachel) at 2 years old with
my first Goat Sara, a Nubian Dairy
goat. I still remember her! My mom
one day told me(when i was about
3) that she had gone to the
neighbors to eat their brush. Well,
for years I looked for her. Well
turns out that 24 years later I found
out what happened to her. She did go to the neighbors. Three miles down the road!
She had gone to The Hamm family. Where Jerry their son, had used her for his FFA
project. He had milked her and showed her in the county fair. Well, as I said I didn't
find out until 24 years later because my mom forgot about where she went to. The
only reason I found out was because my mom brought me this picture when I got my
first registered Nubian when I was 27. I was so excited about getting her. Well she
gave me the picture and said "Here is the goat that started it all." Well turns out I was
dating Jerry and he says " That's that goat I got from you and used in FFA." I said
"YOU! You took my goat!" So that's when I found out what happened to her and that's
when I figured out that there must be fate. Jerry got my goat and later in life I got Jerry
and married him too. It sure is funny how things come together in life. Now I am
raising Dairy Goats with my children. It is wonderful to be able to teach my children
about goats and how to show them in Dairy Goat Shows. My children love it just as
much as I do. I still remember to this day every goat I have ever owned or that was
raised at my parents house for milk. Like I said I love Goats and that is the story of
how I started raising Dairy Goats.
Make an appointment with one of my Nubian bucks for breeding. Email me for an appointment. Only Does that are CAE NEGATIVE will be able to be bred to one of my bucks. Proof of a Negative test must be shown to me before your doe will be bred!

Our herd has been CAE Negative every year of Raising them on our farm. So we do allow some or all of our does to nurse their kids.
|
All goats will be weaned before we allow them to go to their new home. Unless other arrangements have been made.

Our goats came home with 10 Grand Champions and 2 Reserve Grand Champion and 3 BEST IN SHOW ribbons from the Grays Harbor County Fair Aug. 2007!!!
